Fobbed off part deaux

Hi all. Finally got delivery of my IM5 standard range in Nevis blue and I am absolutely smitten. Couple of things I noticed during my drive back that would annoy me over time but overall, I don't think I've ever been so enamoured by a car before.
My biggest peeve right now is the car shaped fob that looks nothing like the car itself and feels very flimsy. It locks and unlocks after multiple presses and I'm pretty sure I'm getting it replaced soon.

One thing that intrigued me was that the physical metal key that's usually inside the fob was handed separately to me in a bag. I believe this has to go inside said fob, but I can't, for the love of my life, figure out how to open the blasted thing. I tried to pry it open but that's damaging the fob and not opening it. Does anyone have any idea where this key should go/should've been and how to get the fob open?

My dealer thought it should sit in the fob too, but nope! Acquiring one of the fob pouches is very useful protection imho. I just use my phone now and leave the fob at home though.

The metal key doesn't go inside the fob, but if you want to get inside the fob, you have to remove the side pieces first. This is from the manual.

The key looks very familiar, almost a direct copy of the Tesla one I got with my model S. If it is anything like that one there is no space for a key. If you want a fob pouch, just get one for a Tesla key
