Probably is, but certainly with a hint of truth about it. Along the lines of driving 50 miles to a garage to save 2p a litre.

If I put in the same value of fuel into my pre EV Focus as when I passed my test I'd have to fill up every 25 miles.

It was nearly 43p a litre when I passed my test. Three years later, it was not quite 35p.

To fill up my 1979 Rekord would have cost £22.56.
But I was boracic then, so never filled up!

On reflection, I think the 'Bethany influencer' post is some wag's idea of a good satire. 'Bethany' is listed as being both from Stafford and Huddersfield in Google searches. And that's as far as I'm prepared to chase the breadcrumb trail. No doubt there is a lip-filled Bethany somewhere, and no doubt there are some people who say I only ever top up with 'twenty quid's worth' w/o realising what they are actually saying. But...

Diesel was $2.62 today, so it went up another 3 cents in 12 hrs, so they are sneaking up the price a little at a time to avoid having the authorities coming down on them for price gouging with up to $100m in fines

Today they added another 4 cents per ltr, so now it's AU$2.66/L, I'm guessing by Monday week it will be at $3/L ...... this service station chain was owned by the people who built "The Bend" motorsport complex but recently sold it off ..... probably to a brother by another mother or something ...... I wonder how long it will be before the govt pays them a visit to check the pricing is legitimate.

Still can't help a wry smile. As a lot of ICE driver's love it, whenever EVs, get hit with some sort of extra payment. So sorry, no sympathy. Although do feel for domestic fuel users.
