Have you noticed fuel prices going up

I couldn’t believe it (worse that Mr Meldrew) just yesterday I was lectured to on the stupidity of trying to persevere with these ev’s. The nonsense has gone on long enough. Any journey beyond a hundred miles is fraught with anxiety. They knew, they’d tried going beyond Carlisle and apparently the few chargers are rammed solid, queues, blah, blah…….
But they’ve discovered the perfect solution -

A self charging Renault Clio 🤭🤭

Was I aware this magnificent machine EASILY covers three miles PURELY on electric power??

Has anyone here ever contemplated the likes ??

This is the stuff of magic.

I departed swiftly in the Citroen, leaving them laughing in a cloud of beautiful fresh air.
How am I going to make the south of France? and back????

Well he did it with his yo-yo tariffs, now oil, what next?
Don't poke the bear, After selling citizenship gold cards for $1m US, maybe get out of the country cards for $2m US, escape with what you can carry in gold bars, no point in taking US notes or paper that claims it will be good for X $$ ..... or cryto $$ for that matter .....

Well you do at least have enough time to start planning your journey in detail. If you set off early in April you have just about enough time to get there adopting your drive for 30 miles and charge for 8 hours regime :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

The first time I did that journey, in 2023 not long after I got the car, I did plan in detail. My first stop was at a farm shop a couple of miles off the motorway, because there was nothing at Tebay, a couple of low-powered chargers at Killington Lake that would have required a two-hour lunch break, nothing at Lancaster North and I didn't want to risk Forton because if I didn't get a charge on the Electric Highway units there I wouldn't have had enough range left to get anywhere else.

I got the single Instavolt at the farm shop but was delayed for almost an hour there because of very slow restaurant service. One of the Ionitys at Stafford, my second stop, was out of order and I had to wait about 15 minutes for a charger. At my third stop, Cherwell Valley, I went to an old Electric Highway charger by mistake but it was delivering and in the SR I wasn't delayed by much. I arrived in Portslade about ten, which was later than I had hoped but not too bad.

Now there are multiple ultra-rapids at Tebay, Killington Lake, Lancaster North and Forton. I've used them all at various times. I've identified Trentham Gardens as my favoured half-way stop even though it's a couple of miles off the motorway because of the Tesla chargers and the nice restaurant. Cherwell Valley can still be problematic at busy times but if so get the hell out to Baynard's Green nearby. Last time I was in the Metropole Hotel car park by half past seven.

I'm trying to remember when I last had to wait a significant amount of time for a charger (not counting the odd five minutes, or taking one look at the situation and going elsewhere) and I think it was Tebay at Christmas 2024. The main issue is trying to second-guess which of several charging sites is likely to be least busy.

Shouldn't laugh, but I'm gonna. 🤣😂🤣😂
Just on that - I’ve just had a message from Electroverse about price plunging with some of the ev chargers for a couple of hours. My Citroen is full after languishing by the house with a cable attached all night.
I hope ice vehicle owners are benefiting from similar offers ?

🤣🤪🤭😄😂

To deter thick fuel thieves with a bucket, jemmy and a length of tubing we need to put a sticker on the charging port door . " EV... no fuel kept in this vehicle overnight. " As long as they can read, it might save damage to the port door.

I see a major flaw in your reasoning 🤪

I've only used FREE unrationed solar power for the last 2 weeks, should I tell some ICE drivers this?
I have been trying to pluck up the courage to point and say Ah Ah like Nelson in the Simpsons at people on the forecourts as I am loading the shopping into the boot at my local supermaket.;)

That's actually a fun idea!
