I took a schadenfreude-infused look at the petrol prices again. Lothianburn and the petrol station I pass in Peebles are still on 151.9p, and Tesco in Penicuik is still on 143.9, but the other petrol station in Peebles is on 156.9 and there's an Asda in Livingston (where I was last night) on 159.9!!

There's no rhyme nor reason to it, because Morrison's in Livingston is on 145.9 and some notoriously expensive rural garages are cheaper than some of the big chains in the cities at the moment.

Saw diesel at $3.30 ltr at the cheap Woolies servo today when we were in Mt Barker.
Surely the truckies aren't having to pay that sort of money, some of them are pulling big loads, 80tonne A double gets about 60ltr/100kms on the hwy, that's around $275 every 100kms, $1,400 Sydney Melbourne one way, close enough to $3,000 one way Sydney Adelaide ....... We'll be eating the dogs and cats because we can't afford food at that rate .....

Diesel now €2.29 and the same at Shell and Jet normally Jet is two cents cheaper. Petrol €2.13.

On my journey last night on the M27, A31 the fuel prices seemed to have stabilised at about 158p for petrol and 179p for diesel. Normally its a free for all captive market with Shell and BP charging the most.

As a true Scotsman I still worry that every mile I drive only saves me about 13 p per mile. How am I supposed to gloat successfully on that for goodness sakes
