Have you noticed fuel prices going up

Average diesel price for regular diesel is $3.20AUD here at the moment, and that is with the 65cents fuel levy reduction, £2 = $3.80AUD, without the 65 cent reduction in the govt tax we would be paying 5 cents/ltr more, I'm interested to see what the prices outside the more population spots when we hit the road on Monday .... certainly glad I don't own a diesel motorhome .... well, I do, but it remains in the front yard waiting for rust removal before it goes on the market .....

There was an item on BBC Look North East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire yesterday which showed a petrol station on the coast with diesel at £2.03 per litre!

I occasionally glance at fuel prices at garages as I hum past and they are certainly rising sharply.

In the South of Ireland where fuel prices were already higher than with us in the North there have been a series of protests daily by hauliers and farmers which have caused chaos on the roads and motorways, virtually bring areas to a standstill but they seem to have had an effect with the Irish government announcing a €505m package in fuel cost savings.

Up here we are due to see similar fuel protests taking place today at 2pm, however while the Southern protestors had a list of measures they wanted to see, our lot haven't decided what they actually want so this should be fun. :)

While the UK gov have a fixed rate of fuel duty which is currently set at 47.9p per litre ( 5p cut applied this month) for petrol and diesel they also apply vat so are benefiting significantly with these price rises.

It's £2.019 at Annandale Water service station, but that is on the motorway.
