Help! Activate iSmart on a 2022 MG5 PFL?

Hi - my first post on this forum!

I'm trying to get MG iSmart set up on my 2022 MG5 LR Exclusive (Pre Face Lift) and am getting conflicting information: MG iSmart support checked my VIN number and said it could be done, "just needs FICM activating". Went to my dealer (Wilsons MG, Epsom) who said my model's too old for iSmart.

I'm inclined to trust MG central support more than the dealer - I bought the car 2nd hand last year (only 19k miles) and assume iSmart was not activated for the original owner.

Has anyone had the same problem, and any suggestions what I should do?

Pre-facelift does not work with i-Smart, neither does the pre-facelift ZS, it's only for the facelift versions and the new models.

Adding to the above, the car does not have the hardware to link to the app so it cannot be 'made to work' with it.

You could try contacting another dealer if MG have checked the VIN
