Hi, purchased by black pearl IM5 2 weeks ago, first EV after trading in my Jag XE 24 plate. Wanted to move into the world of EV's and hate SUV's. Just think the shape of the IM is better than the Tesla and BYD Seal. My IM is the standard model which will cover 99% of my journeys with home charging at 7.5pKwHr😊. saw no reason to be hit with the over £40k tax.

Only niggle so far still can't find how to set the headlights to auto beam/dip even though the manual shows the auto lamp indicator. Getting no help from MG customer services and the garage just shrugs their shoulders😤, hoping someone on the site can point me in the right direction.

Cheers. John
Welcome, there is no auto, high beam function on either of the IM cars, there is a thread about it.

Also just for info you wouldn't have been hit for the luxury car tax as that has been changed to £50k

Enjoy your car, pics appreciated

Welcome to the club guys! I've had my IM5 LR for several months now & probably done over 2,000 miles. All good so far. It looks like we won't be hit with the super tax, it's a bit vague but our dear chancellor seems to have raised the bar to £50k. And it looks like the auto dip function doesn't exist, even though it does get a brief mention in the manual. I think that manual needs a rewrite - I was a bit exasperated by the indicator - I am forever trying to cancel it & keep putting the opposite one on but my wife found out that with a gentle touch, you can indeed get just three indications!
I admit when I jump in the car the first thing I do is cancel the speed warning & lane change - the latter function is ok on motorways but not small roads.

Ha, yes the self centring indicator takes some getting used to I have the same issue but will get used to it eventually.
I switch off the driver attention warning.
