Last post from me. Battery on 92% SOH.
Last 100% charge gave me approx 115 miles.
Hope everyone else enjoys theirs more than I did mine! Least favourite car I’ve ever owned out of over 30 cars.

Ciao!

I wonder if the intelligent battery heating is on.

Was definitely turned off. Settings reset and toggled on and off to test. Maybe I just drive like an idiot, who knows…

The estimate after you’ve charged vs what you actually seem to get is always way off on these cars from experience. I don’t think the trip computer actually knows what it’s doing. The estimate was always 20% over what I ever actually achieved, despite maintaining the same avg mil/kwh figures.

Almost as if MG have programmed it to add 20% of range to the battery % bar to mask the poor performance.

Also noticed the avg mi/kwh never showed when you went below 2.0, it was either “-.-“ or “2.0”. Just a strange feature among many

Well that was a lie. 😂 (y)

That falls in line with, what I always read about ICE cars, general rule of thumb, was knock 20% of the manufacturers MPG figures. And the fuel computers in ICE cars where always wildly optimistic. Don't know if that works for EVs, but going off your figures, it might do. 🤷‍♂️
Wouldn't believe what a car ICE or EV tells you it's gonna get. Although you soon get used to, what your particular car gets. 🙂👍

It is a quirk of MGs that when you reset the GOM it comes back with an unrealistic range figure, that very quickly then adjusts to a smaller range as you drive.
My Born doesn't do this and a relatives Mégane doesn't either, it may add 2/3 more miles but stays pretty accurate.

It is another quirk of the MG that it doesn't show lower than 2 Mi/kwh even though it is lower, this seems to be a thing across the range as Bjorn Nyland noticed it in the IM6 he had a shot of.

Again doesn't happen with the other 2 EVs I have access to, they will show under 2.

MGs are special, then. 😉🙂👍

Might be just an XPower thing but the figure on my Trophy is normally pretty accurate. Obviously it can't predict the future but it normally isn't far off.

I'm talking about when people reset the GOM and it jumps back to close to the wltp range, people suddenly think they have more but it very quickly disappears when you start driving again, and adjust to a more accurate reading

Are you sure you didn’t have a 4 series M Sport, not an M4? No M4 has ever had just 280bhp.
You got me curious and I went for a check, every M4 in the last 10 years has had more than 400bhp.
Probably meant an Msport

Only been 2 variations (face lifts aside) so I knew it wasn’t a proper M car.

Must be one of those that’s puts the M badge on the back of a diesel “M120d” or an AMG badge on the 1.5 litre A Class.

Once worked with a lad that got a 318 M sport with under 150bhp and thought it was an M3 so bought an m performance cap and umbrella.

if it makes them happy that’s all that matters!

You back, again! 🙄😉🙂👍🤪

I've never reset the GOM, and the highest range I've ever seen after a 100% charge was 201 miles, which seemed pretty accurate as after a 100 mile round trip and averaging 40mph and 3.0m/kW I still had 50% battery.

Motorway miles and 'Spirited' driving certainly hammers the efficiency, trouble is I am constantly doing both ;) :ROFLMAO:
