I've noticed that if I lock the car with the boot open it sounds the horn. The doors lock and the mirrors fold in, but I'm still getting the shopping out of the boot and will close it when I'm finished.

Is there any way to turn that off?

I don’t think so.
It sounds the horn if any of the doors etc are not fully closed.
The doors / boot / bonnet has to be fully latched before the car will lock 🔒 successfully, which does make sense really.
If the car is already fully locked, it should allow you to open the boot, to place items inside, without fully opening the whole car ( if the key is detection area of course ).
It will then automatically relock the boot when you close it.
This will be confirmed with a flash of the indicators.

I like to use the touch screen to open the boot, and the door button to lock everything. Then I don't have to find the key and the right button on it.

Oh well, thanks everyone.

You don't need to use the key fob to open the tailgate, you could use the kick sensor or just press the button on the tailgate handle. I'm always a bit wary of using the touch screen to open the tailgate as I might have just parked it a bit close to something. Never have yet but there's always a first time.

I used the screen to open the boot, in order for my son to access some items.
Hit the button and it opened fine.
I could see his upper body, through the rear view mirror.
I watched him in the mirror, move away and assumed he had gone, so I hit the close button, but did not realise he had returned for more items.
Next thing I knew, he was complaining that the boot was now closing on his head !.
Safe to say that I will not be using the screen to open the boot again.
The boot will open from the screen if the gear selector is in N position.

Yep, that's how it works, made an old lady jump out of her skin today as she walked past the car going to shops, the boot was closing as I locked the car.... toot toot!

I use it sometimes, but I find it a bit hit and miss.

The boot lid will only give him a light tap on the head and then stop. Try it out, I have 😁

I unloaded my two greyhounds from the boot and pressed the close button before realising I'd left my walking shoes just inside the boot. I thought I could grab them as the boot was closing...wrong!

Same - Had a similar experience myself Ian in the first week of getting the car 🤣.
I opened the boot with the fob, then put the fob in the back pocket of my jeans.
Reached back into the boot for the second time and retrieving some items at the back of the boot, I suddenly heard the beep beep beep of the boot closing !.
Just managed to get my head out of the way in time - phew close shave 🥴.
I think what must of happened is this.
Never wanting to shut the key inside of the boot, I never put the keys down inside of the boot.
Straight into my back pocket, but I think that when reaching inside, the button somehow the close button on the fob, must of got depressed 🤷🏻.
Never happened since tbh.
This is the first car that we have owned with an electric opener and it’s a big help !.
The only issue is that my wife finds it a little difficult to reach the close button in boot lid when it is open.
A little vertically challenged is the correct terminology now if you are a little short in height I believe 🤷🏻.
