Hot enough for you?

Another warm one on the way

24-01-2026 MG temp 13 oclock.webp

max not expected until 15 o'clock, but the air con is trying it's best, maybe around the 30°C mark inside at the moment ..... a tad warm to be wearing this neck brace I can assure you, but better than the head splitting migraine without it

The MG rolled over 49.5*C on the dash temp as we drove out of the workshop yard and up the hill, 2pm, didn't cool off until we were on the outskirts of Murray Bridge some 36kms away, where it cooled off to 46*C.
Had to hold the lock for the gate in the T shirt to lock it when we were leaving and the same when we returned at 4pm, still too hot to touch, making it extra tricky to get the key in the lock and then feed both it and the chain through the gate ..... then I grabbed the gate to swing it open .... the skin on the palm of my left hand is now shiny, hot to the touch doesn't really convey what it felt like ..... but I'm so close to getting my points to beat Len, I won't say the words used as I was shaking my hand with the idea that would make it cooler or something, and my head for being so stupid ...... No value in running it under the cold tap, that was not cold water, but wrapping it around a cold beer can seemed to help :D

With any luck Terry some of our weather should float over to you in about a week.

It still has to pass over the oven area between there and here, so I doubt we will see those cool temps, it has to blow up from Antarctica to give temp relief this time of yr, but then the wind strength is enough to blow a dog off a chain, but at least it would drop into the 30s.
Next month and early March are the really hot months here, this year will be a stinker.

The solar heater is working big time over here at the moment, 34°C at 8:30am, it was 47°C under the building at the EV charger in Adelaide hospital South Australia, now 48.5° as we stop at the yard gate in Mannum 1:45pm, I expect it will peak around 4pm at over 50°C ..... This heatwave is brutal ...

The wife just returned from a drive to the park beside the river to see if it was cooler there .... yeah nah, the MG dash showed 51.5°C as she went over the hill and down to the main street beside the river ..... it did drop to 49°C there, but she returned to the yard to plug in to at least off set some of the battery drain running the air con. Both her and the dog have camped out in the MG with the air con on full, 10 amp 240 VAC on the slow charger, but not enough to keep up with the air con and fan .... but there is enough still in the battery to carry it through till tonight .....

It does make you wonder about the sanity of someone who chooses to live in an oven and then complains about it 😁
