I settled on leaving brightness set at 25%. This is not visible in daylight but emits a dull glow in the dark so you can see it is in standby or charging mode. All of my charging is done between 0030-0430 (Octopus Go) so this seemed appropriate.
The car and charge point fall within the gaze of a security camera so are monitored overnight in IR mode. I know from routine monitoring that the LEDs are not visible at 25% on camera in this mode so I didn't expect any visual indication of whether the charge point was in timed standby or charging mode.
Did a quick of the footage after charging last night and was surprised to see that whilst the indication is invisible in timed standby, it was brightly visible during charge. This has led me to wonder whether brightness settings are somehow linked to individual modes or whether I'm seeing an anomaly in the sensitivity of the camera IR sensor causing it to react differently to the green charge colour compared to the purple timed standby.
Any thoughts on this?
