ID.POLO (ID.2) revealed

I think it is going to be all about price.

The ID.POLO looks like it might be the first electric VW product I want to buy. But I suspect it will cost a significant amount more than the MG equivalent (unknown yet but as it is has been designed to be cheap, could be Dacia or even sub-Dacia money).

So it will come down to whether it is worth the extra money or not. I'm fairly sure the VW will be the nicer vehicle in terms of quality, interior, drive and software/service.

Mind you, at these lower and lower price points, there does come a point where extra savings are not a priority.

Another question arises:

IF you can get something like these products that have FWD, plenty of interior space for 4 people plus a 450L boot in an even more compact body, then is there any longer a place for a larger car like the MG4 with a significantly smaller boot, no more interior space but RWD and faster/long-range variants?

Or does the future MG4 need to evolve in some way to justify itself as more of a performance product? Or become a mini-SUV? Or something else?

That does look good. Been keeping my eye out for updates in this and the cupra ravel. Got the mg5 as a family car which (no offence) isn't the most exciting. Looking forward to getting a 2nd nippier, smaller punchier.

On the reviews for the Cupra Raval they talked about if that had come first then there would be no need for the Born (due to cabin/luggage space) it's also supposed to be up there amongst the best feeling brakes in an EV

I am now addicted to camping in the car, and that doesn't look as if it has the necessary six feet of load bed behind the passenger seat. And would it take my bike? The bike thing (and aircon, which wasn't available in Polo/Fiesta sized cars in 1998) was why I moved up a size.

But it's still a nice car.

I am also quite taken with the new Polo and depending on specs and price would likely go for the 37kw version, but not until 2027.
By the previous responses are us MG fanboys , as we have been called recently just repressed VW wannabes.?

Going to be some bargain iD3 and Born around once this next gen of VAG products are released. All the things they tried and failed at now sorted. Like all the manufacturers who removed rear wipers in gen 1 cars then put them back in the first revision they could.

Also interesting how the front and rear wheel drive debate goes on. I remember when cars starting changing to front wheel drive and BMW said a proper driving experience could only be had from a rear wheel drive car. Then a few EVs started coming out with rear wheel drive and front wheel drive lost favour. Now it is apparently good to have front wheel drive as it allows for extra cabin and boot space. Have to say I have never really had an issue with either, maybe I haven't been power sliding around enough corners?

I think there is a yearning amongst you to head back to a more quality vehicle 😉

The revised Born comes out this year also, hence the bargains on current Borns.

I wonder if SAIC learned a lot [cough] from the collaboration (joint venture) with VW in China?

Why do you think our wheels are compatible with VW spares?
