I'm just going outside for a while.

OK, you sad lot. 😁

I still have a sealed disk set for DOS and windows 3.1, and a parallel printer cable.

Just in case!
its amazing the stuff we keep but will never use. I still have the tape drive and backup tapes for a computer I retired in 2004, SCUSI film scanner and a parallel print cable.

Hmmm. my memory is not what is used to be - wasn't it an interface for scanners and the like - I vaguely remember needing a twain driver. Re the cable was it, IIRC, a funny square connector like a scart?

I think I've got a Dynamo labeler somewhere that embosses a coloured plastic tape. You spend ages dialling each letter individually and putting a label on everything in site, then a couple of months later removing the sticky residue left behind because you've removed the label.

Just had a nosey and found installation disks 1-7 for Lotus Ami Pro. Anyone else remember this being the foremost word processor software ?
Maybe I have Lotus 1-2-3 hanging around somewhere ? 🤔
Yes, I remember having a word processor with that ...... Early IBM compatible computer running the very first windows - so slow. My FIRST word processor was an Amstrad games machine! With Amstrad 3" floppy discs IIRC.

All this talk of PCs, my first computer was an Atari 400 with 16K RAM, and a membrane keyboard. 8 bits of power! Still have the cassette tape drive from it, as well as an Atari 800 XL (64K RAM) and a 5.25" external floppy drive. Both also had cartridge slots for ROM modules.

Right I'm off to wait 45 minutes for space invaders to load from cassette.
