IM6 Voice Control Not Activating

Hi all. Anyone else having issues with the voice control hardly ever working? Yes, it is toggled on in the menu.

When you say "Hi IM" or press the left steering wheel button, an orb should appear on the screen and it should listen for a command.

However, mine only sometimes works. If i toggle it off in the menu and then toggle it back on, it sometimes starts working again but by the end of the day it's totally missing in action.

Had this a few times when first starting the car, it’s a little slow connecting to the server. Once connected it works “fine” - when I can get it to understand me

Ah right, thank you, that makes sense. We live rurally so the reception in the area isn't the best, which would make it even slower. I didn't realise it needed to talk to the mothership.

It often says “ server busy - try later” or something like that, if your not getting anything try a reset ( hold down both scrolling wheels on the steering wheel until the screens shut down,)then it will re-boot.

I must admit it is mostly hit and miss with mine too.
I rarely use it though; I never change driving modes will I drive and AC is always on auto.
All other functions that I may need related to maps or music I use Android auto which since I got the Gemini update is amazing.

Yeah TBH, if I knew the voice control was so bad, I probably wouldn't have bought the car. The controls are all so difficult to find while driving. However, I thought the voice control would make that a non-issue.
The location of the screen and the busy layout means you actually have to take your eyes off the road quite a lot, especially if you're an older person.

I have had my IM6 for two days now, loving it. I am registered blind so I haven't had this particular problem but I can imagine if you are sighted this would be an issue. Hopefully the much anticipated ota (or even dealer installed) software updates will help with the voice assistant. My biggest issue is the reversing speed, the beeps increase in volume as you approach obstacles but there is very little reaction time because it goes several mph faster than an automatic ICE car; hopefully an update will slow that a bit.
