Irish Garda want to check an EV van for red diesel!

The police forces in the U.K., Eire and Australia do random checks on vehicles to find those illegally using red diesel in their tanks.

At an Irish checkpoint, the female Garda officer stops this van, an EV, to tell the driver they are going to test his fuel! If it wasn't captured on video, you would find this very hard to believe! Take a look!

To be fair I would doubt many would identify a number of EVs straight off. Even a lot of ICE are astonishingly quiet. Even the fake grill on the MG5 is not that obvious.

I liked the little bubble car where they made a fuel tank in place of the seat base. The forecourt attendant (remember them?) was expecting to put in a few gallons and got worried when it got to a lot more.

Don't hear "fill er' up mate" too often now.
