I'm reading on the internet that structural corrosion on critical components is a known issue for some MG models, such as the ZS and new MG3, that can lead to a failure on their first test. Does anyone have any other indications about rusting on MG's?
If your car is showing signs of rust before its first MOT, should it be addressed under MG's warranty? There are apparently also reported on the internet difficulties getting dealers to recognise non-facing-panel rust as a defect.

I have seen a few images of 4 year old previous shape ZS with serious rust. My 15 year old Renault doesn't have any rust, I would be very annoyed if what is to me virtually a new car looked like this. No idea about the new MG3 Hybrid but I have seen some subframes for sale on eBay and they looked like new, but then again the oldest cars are only 18 months old.

Today I was looking for the passenger's fuse box and I discovered this:

I bought the car (new) 2 weeks ago. I guess I will go to the dealer for some explaination

When steel is welded, the area around it will rust quicker than in welded areas.

just for info.
