Hi all, hope all's well.
Having our S5EV Trophy LR delivered on 17th and no doubt will post endless questions on here for advice. Apologies in advance 🤣
Q1: Does my wife need her own account set up for her app, independently bound to the car, or will one account in my name be enough? I can set the app up on her phone with my existing account details but can the car accept more than one device bound to it via iSmart?
Q2: I've purchased a few items from MGTitan, namely the door edge protectors, mud guards, centre console storage tray, armrest tray, tonneau cover, but I still need to purchase a boot and floor mats. I'm tempted by the rubber versions (no, not to satisfy any odd fetish) and preferably low/no odour versions (wife and kids have sensory issues). Any recommendations of where best to buy them? I'm also considering to buy some 'nice' seat covers to keep them as protected as possible. Any recommendations for these would also be appreciated.
Thanks in advance, your comments are appreciated 👍

We have 2 devices running iSmart, but you have to reenter the password if switching devices & can only have one device connected at a time.

I don't think iSmart is essential, but guess its handy (like this morning) to de-ice the front & rear windows & wing mirrors, and to turn on the heated seats & steering wheel, before we venture out in the cold!

Also when having a coffee in a cafe while waiting for car to charge, it allows you to remotely watch charge level.

But none of these things are essential, and the comms between iSmart, the European server and the car itself are not completely reliable.

I guess re-entering a password isn't that much butt ache but more than likely it'll be me on my phone sending instructions etc to the car, the missus would only end up resetting it 🤦🏻‍♂️

I have a complete set that I don't think I'll use, in wine red. You are welcome to them, free of charge, but, I have to be honest, I CBA to pack them up and post them.

Leighton Buzzard is not on my route, do you ever go anywhere near:
Biggin Hill
Bromley
Sevenoaks
Morden
Epsom
Acton
Central London
Shepherds Bush?

If @Wilse doesn't want/can't pick them up, then anyone else is welcome if we can do the logistics

That's very kind of you but I'll pass on them. Hopefully someone will take you up on that offer 🤞

Does my wife need her own account
Not sure if it's the same over your way. Here in Australia, the iSmart app has a "share" function where the main owner can share another person with different email account. The shared user can use the iSmart app independently without effecting the first owner and vice versa.

I'll look into that, thanks 👍

Welcome to the MGS5 it is a major step up from the 2nd Gen Zs ev.
If you use the same account then only one person can remain logged in at a time. However, if you create a secondary account from the app you’ll both can remain logged in.
The app is great to have but not essential.

Thanks for clarifying that. My wife is not particularly tech savvy so she's already 'intimidated' by the amount of features/settings the car has, I need to set everything up as simply as possible so that she can get used to getting in, 'starting' the car, setting MG pilot and cracking on. This is our first EV and it'll take a while to get used to but I can't wait. It's being delivered on Saturday.

Welcome to the world of EVs. Once you have experienced it you will not want to go back to ICE. My family has been all EV since 2016 and I wouldn’t even think about going back.
It can be a learning curve but we have got a great forum here so any questions don’t hesitate to ask. Best of luck and enjoy!

We have the Carmats odourless mats, and ours are ...odourless.
I do like the look of those but I also like the ones from Top EV Gear but they'll take weeks to deliver from Australia 🤔

I think we're going to end up getting the UK based rubber mats, odourless versions, and then decide later if we get the lipped ones from Australia. I need them reasonable soon.
