Its possible to unwittingly purchase a seemingly unused spare wheel or spacesaver, secondhand. What I'm trying to say is beware of the tyres age and how old it might be on top of that, if a few years later you need to use it.
So you might end up using a really really old tyre on a very heavy powerful vehicle.

Where would you store it. Not in the boot as that would increase the weight?

In years gone by I used to buy a full sized spare and put it in the boot when either going a long way and or having the mother in law in the car. She had a heart problem. Normally I removed it for general around town driving.

These days I carry about 4 extra tyre inflation cannisters and have access to two recovery organisations. So no spare. Thats modern life eh!

Make sure they are tucked away some where. If you drop something heavy and sharp on them it might end up like an Ibiza foam party in the back of your car......... now there's an insurance claim ! :D
