I saw this on my way home. One of our fellow MG drivers with a PCN on the windscreen.
For several years the Source London double chargepoint has had, to the left a bay marked "electric vehicles only". To the right no markings, but part of a residents parking area, permit required.
It's not often but I have seen cars on charge on both sides, but I have never seen one with a penalty on the windscreen on the unmarked side.
So is this justified? or would the driver of the Smurf in this case just assume that you can park and charge there without displaying a residents permit. Or is it intended for residents only? with, in effect the bay to the left for public charging. ChargeFinder just describes the location as having 2 charge sockets, public, available 24/7.
The eagle eyed amongst us will have spotted a parking suspension, but this does not come into effect until 2nd Feb. It would be totally ironic however if the suspension is there to remark the bay and avoid the possibility of this issue ever occurring again.
