Definitely a case of making money at what you are good and spending money to get something done that you know little about ..... it takes a lot longer to do a job that requires you to learn as you go, that time could have been spent making a lot more money in your specialised field than you saved.

It is only practical to learn as you go and take all the time needed, if you don't have an opportunity to earn more than the job costs, or you are in such an isolated area that you are the person that's available, then it is beneficial to learn as you go, that way, when it does need fixing, you know how to take it apart and either replace the part, or send it away to someone who does know how to fix it ....

I'm sure there must have been a way to say that with a lot less words, but that doesn't appear to be part of my skill set :LOL:
