Was parking in a woodland car park while on holiday and got the front passenger side stuck on a low rock i had not spotted. Reversed back and cant see much damage other than this under sill is scrapped and a small portion, about 4cm long looks like its split. I am thinking i may just gently knock the piece back up and apply some grease to the scrape until it gets a proper check in a couple of months when it’s serviced. I have sent the picture to the dealer who called me and said they dont think its anything to worry about and they can sort it out when its in for its service in July.

Anybody got any thoughts, i am pretty sure this loop piece should not be hanging down like that as the other side isnt but dealer said there are a few drain holes around that area so they couldn’t tell.

I think that's just the sealant they cover the weld with. Fingers crossed it just needs cleaning off and a new bead of sealant applied.

Think I have worked out what has happened. It appears there is meant to be a drain hole at this point, see undamaged side image. The side which is damaged is at the same point of the drain hole so i suspect that was the weak point. Going to take it up to the dealer when i get back and ask them to check it out and suggest best way to fix as don’t want to block a drain if it is meant to be there!

A big screwdriver or a small crowbar would open that up slightly and close that top split at the same time, then slap some rust stuff on it. Wouldn't be suprised if that's all the dealer would do. 🙂👍
