OuchThread necromancy alert!
I've just paid for my first MG4 VED this morning ... £195 to tax the car from 01-Mar-26 for 12 months.
It's going to be a sad couple of months for EV owners
Wow ian I sure I read somewhere the first year was £10I had to pay £195 VED when I bought my MGS5 in August last year. It's expected to go up to £200 in April 2026
You should do Stand-up mate.Maybe all the new EV VED will go towards mending a few potholes...

Indeed. Or perhaps replace the horn in my MG5 with an irony klaxonYou should do Stand-up mate.![]()
Your right !.It's coming to everyone with an EV ... some may already have paid it. (Like yourself, for instance, as it'll have been included in the lease/purchase cost of your MGS5).![]()
You’re right Les, I think it’s £10 for the first year on EV’s cars costing less than 43 grand ish.Wow ian I sure I read somewhere the first year was £10
So I had letters yesterday for my MG5 and my wife’s MG4. £195 on each.
Les
You are correct but I'm the second owner as the car was a pre registered with 5 miles on the clock. It might have cost me £185 extra for the VED but I saved nearly £10k on the list price.Wow ian I sure I read somewhere the first year was £10
