Here are the names of the trims of MG EVs used here on MGEVs.com. They are as close to the names given by MG as possible, but with some tweaks to shorten them for use in the forum.

• SE = Standard Edition
• SR = Standard Range
• LR = Long Range
• ER = Extended Range
• Battery size is usable as quoted on ev-database.org.
• Availability of each trim (mm/yy) is shown in brackets after the trim name.

FYI: My battery label is on the left side, in front of the rear left wheel arch. My car is a March 2021 MG5 SW Long Range, Exclusive.
Label states Chemical Type NCM. Energy 52.5 kWh. Nominal voltage 350V

Norwegian MG5 'Luxury' first registered Sept 2022 - not sure which model year/revision that translates to,
Vehicle Documents state it is type EP22-L. I am not sure how that translates for the table in the first post here. I still haven't worked out where the battery plate is, and how easy it is to view.

I think for the MG5, for non-UK 'Europe' the two available models are the 'MG5 Comfort' and the 'MG5 Luxury' - at least, that's what the MG Europe website appears to show.

My best guess at the moment is that I have an MG5 'Luxury' Long Range with a 61.1 kWh NMC battery.

This doesn't agree with any model in the ev-database.org web site. I hope that they don't just delete older models when they are no longer available new.

I'd say that yours is the legacy model, but not actually the long range variant. 52.5kWh might come down to 48.8kWh usable, or yours is a model we don't have listed yet.

Any model variant experts care to comment? Sorry for the late response.

Ah. That might be the one that has a usable capacity of 48.8 kWh.

Thanks, Coulomb. It may be that I don't have a long range, yet the maths works out better if I pretend the battery is 60 kWh when I determine how many amps to set the Hypervolt charger in order to charge up to 80%.

This car seems to agree with the details I found on the EV Database here: MG MG5 EV, which states the battery is 48.8 kWh useable, as you said.

https://www.vindecoderz.com/EN/check-lookup/LSJE24091LG110975 shows that the car is an MG model 5/EV made by SAC. Then the site wants money for more information!

Tennyrate, I'll live with it! It lasts all week on local journeys; we often do trips to the highlands and seaside without public charging; long trips are no problem either as there are now plenty of public chargers.

The vehicle I drive (in Australia) should read like this : 2023 MG HS + EV 'Excite'. **
That is the name in Australia: on the car and on the papers.
** The battery is 16.6 kWh.
I am not sure why it is given as 'Comfort' in my profile.

The "higher" model for exactly the same car is called "Essence" in Australia : which has the fog lights, sun-roof, 360 degree camera etc.

There are so many MG EVs available now that I think this thread has become too unwieldy to maintain and the trims available for each model should be listed in the wiki thread in each model’s forum.
I am therefore deleting this thread. Thank you for your contributions.
