I have a couple of suggestions - (as usual).

ZS Window tinting - is it needed? Any recommendations?
12v battery jump starter battery packs - anyone use them? Will they get you out of trouble? Anyone used them? Worth carrying? Recommendations?
high voltage battery charging regime and best practice - keep fully charged? Keep between 30% and 80% ? Does it matter that much? What do you do?

I have a question. I never turn the radio off its self I just turn the car off. When I turn the car on the radio boots up with the MG logo. I wondered if that was normal. As very occasionally when I start the car it goes straight to the radio no booting up?

In line with some of the forum threads and use of a battrey pack jump start...I wonder of Miles could indicate roughly how much current is required to start up the HV batteries if the 12v battery is flat

Hello. Is KERS (3) powerful enough, or could be lets say 10% / 15% stronger to help with 1 pedal driving.
BATTERY button - would be nice to have % not miles.
How good is LINE KEEPING?

Yes I would like to know if a battery back jump start would work, if I use it on my other petrol vehicle you connect the live lead to the battery and the negative lead to a part of the engine (not the negative of the battery), if it does work on the EV, where do you connect the negative lead??

Not directly onto the engine. There should be a mounting point somewhere near-ish to the 12v, Page 243 of the manual states:

1. Connect the RED booster cable between the positive (+) terminals of both batteries. Connect the BLACK booster cable from the negative (-) terminal of the donor battery (A) to a good earth point (the PEB mounting or other unpainted surface, for example), at least 0.5 m from the battery on the disabled vehicle (B).

Hi, Yes thats for booster cables, mine is a booster pack with 1 red cable and 1 black cable and states connect red cable to positive terminal of battery and black cable to any engine bolt. This would be imposible on an EV, perhaps a part of the body would be OK?

I have a booster just in case and the way I understand it is if you came to the car and you couldn't unlock it due to the 12v battery being flat you would unlock manually with the key flip the bonnet put the booster on the neg and pos of the 12v battery and then push the start and the car should boot up. Remove the booster as the main battery should be charging the 12v battery now.

Connecting to the neg on the battery if the cable is still connected is the same as connecting it to the bodywork.

I know thats what should happen, but I have a Toyota iQ for emergencies, just lately, i.e. the last 18 months I have not used it so much and the battery goes flat, if I connect it to the battery which I have done in the past when jump starting from another vehicle it does not work, disconnect the negative lead from the battery and attached to an engine bolt (as it states in the instructions) it starts. I don't know why but it does. I can see the reasoning with attaching to the 12v battery, just to be able to push the start button and start to charge from the main batteries. Anyhow it goes into the dealers on the 12th March for an update, so will proberly come back completly re-configerated. Could come back as a boat, who knows.

The reason for not connecting onto the negative side of dead battery is if that battery is faulty, it might explode. Thats why a grounding bolt is suggested.
I've misplaced my multimeter, but there is a metel bolt next to the battery. If that is grounded then I would connect there (i cant check at mo).

Thanks, I have only lifted bonnet to check water levels and top up washer water, looks too complicated for me. Hopefully I will never need to jump start.
