I just found this from a few weeks ago, I had no idea this has been announced, apologies if I missed this being covered on another thread.

Took my 14 year old van into a back street garage for a new clutch in Brive a couple of years back. Got a overnight loaner whilst the did the work.
When making a general enquiry at MG it was " 25 euros a day , if we have one available ? "

Like-for-like, yeah ok, they want to hope they don't get many Cybersters breaking down, otherwise it's definitely good news. (y)
In my understanding, like-for-like doesn't mean exactly the same car, it means an equivalent level, so it will be interesting to see what that is for a Cyberster.

Also, the article doesn't say when this launches, although it implies it is already running, but I wouldn't assume that until we have had some evidence from owners.

Agreed, I could have phrased that better, have edited.

I meant awareness of this depends on dealers telling customers.

If your car goes in for a regular service/MOT or other work, it is still up to the dealer to provide a courtesy car if they can, this is not guaranteed.

This is if you break down and are recovered by MG Assist and provides a replacement vehicle while you wait for your car to be fixed and returned to you.

It doesn't provide a courtesy car if it goes in for warranty work only if you breakdown and MG Assist takes the car to the dealers.
To be fair, that's nothing new - MG Assist has always offered this, at least for as long as I've had mine. 🤷‍♂️

Previously it was a courtesy car limited to a few days, not unlimited until the car is fixed. The new approach is much more comprehensive.

Yes, a courtesy car really should be provided for warranty claims.
My dealer does but you have to either buy their insurance at £14 ish per day or use your own but it must cover the car fully comprehensive and not third party.

That's summut I s'pose. But obviously could prove expensive. 🙄

On my 12V battery issues in early January, the car was in the garage for 3 days, I had a small Citroën EV, possibly a C3, it was awful to drive and the range abusmal, but it provided a means of getting around.
I really struggle to understand anyone wanting to buy one 🤣😂
