MG ZS car aerial

The MGZS EV aerial seems to be much longer than usually found on todays cars. Why is this neccessary?
After backing into my garage I realised that there was less than an inch clearance between the top of the aerial and the underside of the garage roll up door!

I get much better digital radio reception in the MG than I do in others. Maybe the aerial helps?

I hadn't noticed the aerial, but I see what you mean now, especially with it being quite a high vehicle to begin with. Is it a screw on/off? If so, you could replace it with a smaller generic one (the one on the Mini is about half this height and screws on/off).

The OEM aerial was hitting the opened garage door. I bought a stumpy, good quality, aerial from eBay for £5. No problem with signal strength.
