MG ZS hybrid+ bike rack/carrier/tow rack?

Looking for advice on my best option please. I have a 2025 ZS+ hybrid, and a child who’s decided he likes riding his bike now!

I have a bike rack/carrier (one you attach to the boot by straps) but I don’t know whether I can use it on this car, as the bike rack website doesn’t include any 2025 cars on its listings. Is there any issue using this sort of thing on MGs?

Or, am I better off looking at roof bars, or tow bar carrier? I think I’d rather tow bar as I’m not the tallest, but conscious of cost etc, which is how we ended up with the carrier we have in the first place.

I went with a towbar (see the towbar thread). NZD 475 (just over £200), I wasn't in a hurry so I waited for a company to have a special.
Not great for actual towing because the weight limits are so low, but perfect for easily throwing a bike rack on and off.
I'm a bit leery of those tailgate bike racks - and in any case I already own a tow bar bike rack and it would be not too different a price to buy a tailgate bike rack vs put a towbar on my MG ZS. I like the tow bar bike racks as they come on and off really quickly and easily, it's a really positive connection between the towbar and the rack, and the one-bike racks take up very little space in your boot too.
