MG ZS Hybrid + sat nav

The sat nav in my ZS EV has had 2 days where it has decided I am miles away from my location.
With the car off for 10 min it then stops having a hissy fit & resumes being good.

I see a warranty call coming on.

Hi Col. Do you use the MG iSmart app? If you do does it work when your car is in your garage? If it does, then my understanding suggests, the iSmart app, on your phone connects to MG’s server, and that sends a request to your car requesting position and other information regarding tyre pressure, battery voltage etc.
If this is correct then it suggests that being in the garage, or not, is immaterial. Also what happens if you park the car in the open and then ask iSmart to find it, does it work?

I see a long wait for a solution.
Mine had condensation in the N/S mirror light strip, MG agreed to replace it under warrantee, on the 3rd of February, I'm still waiting for the right part to arrive.

I've not had a reason to use it but I have it. Just checked and location is correct on app whilst car is in garage.

Went to Northampton the other week and was parked in hotel car park. Satnav knew where I was each time. Issue only seen when parked in my garage but as said it resolves itself before I leave my drive so not a problem for me.

Has anybody managed to find a setting so that the map stays fixed as pointing “up” or direction of travel rather than changing to presumably showing north? Find it so much easier to fix the map so that it always shows the direction as going “up” on screen rather than trying to interpret which way to turn when the map shows as travelling “down” the screen! Does that awful description make sense??

For your information: in the MG3 manual you will find everything (?) about your navigation:
https://www.mg.co.uk/sites/default/files/2024-06/MG3_Hybrid_Owner_Manual.pdf
Nav: page 199 - 208
Thanks for the heads up.
Makes you wonder why MG includes a whole section relating to the navigation system in the MG3 manual, but doesn’t bother to include it in the ZS Hybrid manual. And although to they are well aware of this oversight, they have not made any attempt to correct it.
The ZS hybrid is remarkable value, if MG spent just a small amount of effort, listening to owners, and attempting to work with them to overcome these silly mistakes/ommisions, they would reap the benefits by having owners singing their praises. Instead, when I’m asked if I would recommend the ZS hybrid+, I respond by saying its OK, but let down by a number of annoying problems, which MG appear unwilling, or incapable of rectifying.
