MG3 Hybrid+ Trophy
Good day All,

I bought the MG HYBRID TROPHY+ with all my savings and waiting for 10 years.
But to my surprise the car slows down // revs higher which going for an incline.
I have not tried it on the hill up till now.
I took the car back to the dealer for checking but he says all is ok with the car.
MG told me on e mail the fault is under review.
What can I do as I bought the brand new car 10 days before.
Can you please guide.

Thanks

Hi
I believe you have a 30 day returns option for a full refund

How is it going now?

I have had my car just 10 days .
Yes it does rev up steep hills in the regime of 3.5 thousand revs .Mine is fine on smaller inclines .On the plus side it's a quiet car so when it revs up you notice it more .I did mention it the dealership .But they didn't seem too concerned but if it was troubling me too much they would look at it .I have heard on the grapevine that hybrids do rev but it's only what I have read

I picked up my new hybrid zs trophy last week beautifully car plenty of torque drives really well but it over revs on most inclines and sometimes on the flat 35 mph and can be reving at 5,000 + it's like clutch slip but I'm sure it isn't it just seems excessive I'm new to hybrid so wasn't sure if this is how they are of i put foot down or ease off it usually sorts its self out after a few seconds but it's worrying me hiw much it revs

Mine needed to run in a bit. It is nippy and a great extras car. However things started to improve after 2,100. Book suggests 900mls. I think when battery us low and heater us in ,on a small incline with only 3 gears it tends to do that more excessively at first. Enjoy the car though.

Hi Ash
I’m having the same problem as you.
I’ve got my car booked in MG in 9 April 2025
It appears that MG are aware of it!!
I think that it requires an update to rectify the problem. I await the outcome.

Mine had update PD052 installed yesterday. To be honest i had not witnessed the problem.
On a fast dual carriageway I floored it and exceeded to speed limit, the engine increased to 5000 rpm, but there were no other effects. Mind you I was’nt going up a steep hill.

At least you know your software is as up to date as it can be.

Mine settling down now. Averaging 60-65mpg and have been up and down hill country and motorways. I keep the AirCon off though. Mpg never fares as well on motorways and it climbed Shane's pass well enough not sure it will do that well in winter weather though. I've posted a couple of Australian vids on the rev problems. Check my posts.

I have a new MG ZS hybrid + and am still trying to understand it's features.
I have bound my phone to the car, I have the MG iSmart app. If I set up a route on my phone, decide I like it and add it to favourites (still on the phone) how do I send that route to the car, if it is even possible to do that. Google AI says it's possible but I can't figure out how to send the info to the car.

Android or Apple. Start the route on phone plug in with wire USB port not USBc (bigger one) back to your infonement screen and on left it will have lit up in blue. Hit it and watch. Job done.

Thanks, I'll give that a try tomorrow. Am I right in thinking it's not possible wirelessly? I thought the MG ismart app supported that.

Jerry Pan has a video on a plug-in for MG’s he recommended the ‘carabc wireless CarPlay adapter’, which I bought. The system has it moments, generally it connects and works, occasionally I have the wait a couple of minutes, but I think it has something to do with the operating system on the car sorting itself out.
Once connected ApplePlay works fine.
