MG3 Hybrid Engine Oil Grade

Thanks, that good to know.

Hello there! I do understand and respect the official guidelines mentioning 0W 20 oil, but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with such motors in places with really high temperatures during the summer? I live in Greece, were nowadays its expected to have like 35-45C during the summer (95-113F) where 20W 40 is the most common oil used.

Again, I'm not arguing, I'm just wondering - since the manufacturer recommends what's the best, but that doesn't mean its the best for every situation/temperature/etc.

Thanks a lot in advance!!

AI Overview

Yes, a 0W-20 engine oil is generally suitable for temperatures between 35-45°C. The "0W" in 0W-20 refers to the oil's viscosity at low temperatures, while the "20" refers to its viscosity at operating temperature. Even in warmer climates, the engine's operating temperature remains relatively consistent due to the cooling system, meaning a 0W-20 oil will maintain its protective viscosity.
