Best day of my life Mg3 hybrid 6 months old 5800klms gone, biggest piece of I have ever owned.Dangous car runs out of power on big inclines , nearly comes to a stop.

After 18 months I got rid of my MG3 HYBRID TROPHY and replaced it with a BYD DOLPHIN SURF COMFORT.
An all electric car which is not surprisingly very quiet, and very good value with some very good deals at the moment.
As I've said on here before, generally a cut above the distinctly budget MG3, but unlike the MG3 the BYD is reliable with a network of dealers and customer service dept that is helpful and tries to keep the customer happy.
Something MG UK have little or no understanding!!

So today we have this post, one from someone who is regretting buying one, and someone who is having issues at 5 months old and is being asked to pay an investigation fee.

Not exactly filling me with confidence as I already have worries about the long term reliability.

After just over 12 months 5,000 miles got rid of my MG 3 . Seemed unable to solve the engine emissions & over reving after many visits to dealer.

I've had my MG3 luxury since july. No real problems with it, it does rev up at silly times and it does have its quirks. But it has been very reliable, and goes like stink.

You are correct great milage and acceleration ,but absolutely dies on large inclines down to 30 klms flat on the pedal????

Sounds like you need an update. Go speak to your dealer.

No updates available in Australia, which Evan makes it more funstrating dealing with MG. Never again I would own a piece of shit MG.

Agree 100%. I have had mine 12 months.

Try driving up the Gillies Range in North Queensland Australia, then give me your opinion. Even failed when the Dealer drove it, like I said it's a piece of .

Also have a 18 month old MG3 no problems or over reving Whereas newer ones seem to have problems and over reving.I wonder why.

I've had mine 12 months, and have done 7,000 miles.
I have travelled up Garrowby Hill in East Yorkshire several times, and not had a problem. I do have the anomoly, where the car momentarily has a flat spot, abit like the older style turbos cutting in, but nothing like a complete loss of power.
