Car play is not working- any suggestion. Tried doing everything as required. Was working initially.

If it's just streaming music you want via bluetooth check phone settings

Car play doesn’t use Bluetooth. It is via lightning cable.

Yes it needs a cable. It does not connect wirelessly. Here's the screenshot from the user manual(point 2):

I've had all sorts of problems with it too, you can search my posts. Even with a brand new phone/cable, it's still intermittent so I'm thinking it's a fault with the USB port (or dodgy software I suppose).

How can you even think that it is dodgy software ?

May be worth having the dealership have a look? I had issues with the hiss in the radio and also FM stations not getting listed. Went to the dealership and they fixed it for me. So may be worth giving the dealership a visit.
