Mysterious chirp

I was driving my 1 month old MG3 Hybrid+ today when it suddenly started to “cheep” every second. I couldn’t see any alerts on screen but it eventually stopped after about 30 seconds. I was just driving without any mgpilot functions and not crossing any lane markings. Any explanations?

Yes, coincidentally, there is one but I’ve passed others without hearing anything. I wasn’t aware that it wasn’t a function on this car.

is it possible the satnav weren't aware of some of the speed cameras? I realised that some of the alarms I was getting were when coming up behind a camera. they stop once you pass it. Or it could be the 'danger areas' like schools, hospitals etc. I have turned off all the alerts possible.

Must admit I haven’t investigated the settings too closely. One for the to do list.

Go into warnings in the sat nav settings, and turn all the warning categories to visual only. ( you have to do each separately). The system is very over the top on its audio warnings, even if the sat nav isn't being displayed!

Thanks, I’d just done that before seeing your posting. Can you possibly explain why I occasionally get a “bong” just after switching power on, before even considering driving.

I get that sometimes I found it was the speed sign recognition, when on my drive it doesn't show the speed limit and it bongs, soon as i pull out on to the road it shows 30 mph and bongs again

I get the bong too, and I've now long since given up working out what the hell it is!!
