National speed limit recognition failure.

I have had this issue for some time now but it has been intermittent. It started happening after a software update to cure the star key issue. I have been monitoring it, and reading other people's posts with interest. Most of the time it will work correctly but occasionally it will stop. I have now realised that it is connected to the 4g signal to perform correctly, and when the car fails to connect online it will stop working. At the same time the weather forecast also fails to work as it says it cannot get the location ( as it is not online) The navigation can also be inaccurate at the same time.
Just thought I would put this out there to help anyone else with the same problem.
