I currently have an Android phone that's a little basic, and I am thinking of upgrading to something more powerful that also supports wireless charging. I was looking at the Honour 400 Pro; however, this phone has quite a pronounced camera hump, and I was wondering if that would prevent wireless charging, as the phone would not lie flat on the charging pad. I would appreciate hearing others' experiences with different Android phones and wireless charging in the S5. Many Thanks

I have a Pixel 8 and although it has a small camera hump it charges OK.
The main reason for choosing this phone was that it's made by Google and comes without another manufacturers bloatware. It is also guaranteed to receive operating system updates for 7 years.

I have a Xiaomi with a very pronounced camera bump and it charges fine outside of its case. The case has a magsafe ring on it that stops the wireless charger from working in the car.

Thanks, I was a bit worried that I would purchase a phone that would not charge due to the camera bump.

Even if it's a problem you can buy a seperate wireless charger for £20 or just plug the phone in.
Thats an option, but if not using the cars built in charger I might as well stick with my current phone.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S25 and it charges fine inside the case.
I'll second the S25, just chuck it on the pad and it charges, I have mine in a clear silicone case, and the camera lenses don't protrude any further than the case, so the back is almost flat.

Thanks, thats good to hear 👍

As someone who is struggling with a Honor 50 android phone for many years, I am also in the market for an upgrade. I am facing several issues of Honor phone with Android Auto as It fails to connect very often. I also want to use a phone with wireless charging to make use of the MG S5's capabilities. My choice has come down to the Google pixel 9 which is both a budget phone as well as comes with all the features I need.

Do you have the Google Pixel 9 yet? If so how is it working for wireless charging and Android Auto in the S5?
