Now here's a funny thing... I know it may not really fully make sense, but the look of the car needs to appeal to me before I can literally buy into it.It's OK to say you like the look of a car, regardless of power train, try not to feel guilty about it.![]()
But then you have to ask yourself, well, I really love the way that car looks, but it doesn't offer exactly what I need.
Do you make compromises?
I mean, take an MGA soft top as an extreme example...cracking little car with bags of style but no room for more than one passenger and luggage space is tight. It wouldn't be practical for most of us. Desirable yes, but not practical.
Spinning things around, imagine you are choosing your next car. Everything is perfect, just as you would want it, except you absolutely hate the way the car looks. The range is good, the space is vast, the thing is comfortable, it drives well, but it just offends your eye.
Now, in reality most vehicles are not at these extremes, but somewhere in-between.
The way a car looks is obviously subjective so one person's beautiful is another's ugly.
How much do you value the car's appearance?
