Good morning, hope you all had a lovely christmas day and enjoy the rest of the festive period.

I've been lurking a few weeks but decided to finally sign up as I'll be formally joining the clan in mid-April hopefully.

Currently driving a Honda E but a couple of weeks ago I put in my order for a standard range IM5, Black Pearl with white interior. I can't wait! How are you tracking the build/shipping progress? I've ordered via my company's salary sacrifice partner so maybe it's unavailable to me.

I am fairly up to speed on a lot of the frequently asked questions and the little niggles people are experiencing, one thing I don't know though: does this car have a speed limiter? I tend to use this more than CC, especially in camera heavy areas, but I haven't noticed any mention of one in my research. The MG reps couldn't tell me either unfortunately.

Also if anyone already has the same colour config that I've ordered, please share some pics, I'm keen to see how it looks

Cheers, and indeed it is! The E is such a fun little city car, it's just a shame Honda overpriced it and immediately abandoned it. Really enjoyed owning it but it's time to upsize again as the partner's company car is coming up for renewal and she wants to downsize. Not complaining though, the IM5 grabbed my attention at Goodwood and it was my first thought when the prospect of switching came up 😁

Rob 83, you are going to love it.
I posted this a few minutes ago regarding delivery.
Actually for anyone still awaiting their cars, to me it seems that if 'made-to-order' the wait is around 10 weeks. Maybe some are lucky and have it far less, but from reading comments so far, that would appear about right.
Like you, I upped to LR IM5 from a small car (BMWi3) and there is a huge difference. I must say though that the i3 is a great car, even greater in 2013 when it shocked the car world. It's a future classic, but I wasn't prepared to live with the battery warranty worry for many more years (mine was a late 2021 model). Let us know how you compare the Honda E with the IM..... when you get it.

Although I haven't had time to use it, the very comprehensive adapted cruise control has what all such systems have. I don't actually like cc, preferring to feel in control more. I guess the 4 paddles behind the steering wheel control speed limit. Either that or use the beeps and bongs to warn you if you exceed the limit.

There does not seem to be any speed limiter function, it shows just under ADAS - Pilot: Off, ACC and Pilot. Only sub menu that comes up is "automatic lane change" under Pilot, so no speed limiter available, if there is no secret hidden way it is accessed.

That's a shame... I use speed limiting a lot, more than ACC.
I didn't try driving it in over 30 km/h when turning the button to "Off", and testing to depress any of the steering wheel buttons in case something new appears. Shall try to remember to test it tomorrow.

Thank you, hopefully it's something they can patch in with an OTA when they start doing that. I find limiters useful, given how quickly (and quietly) EVs accelerate. Accidental speeding is a genuine risk!

Never been a fan of cruise control 🤷‍♂️

I tested this today, and no, I can't find that it has any limiter function at this time.
