News on delivery of first Batch of IM5

Just spoke to my dealer and they said my car, that came to the country on the 9th of Nov, is in Glasgow now and will be ready for pick up in a couple of days. I still don't have a reg or a vin number for it

My car has arrived at the dealer at last it was here on the 6 Nov but only just got to the dealer .I was told it was MG who held up delivery . Dealer now has to do an update to it . Hopefully pick the car up on Friday 28

Just a quick update on the delivery of my IM5 Long Range.

The car was ordered around the end of September in Nevis Blue with a Grey Interior. Up until last week I heard nothing from the MG dealer in Cornwall, so I decided to contact them myself directly.

At first, all they would say is that they had no delivery date as of yet for my car and that also applied to other IM5’s that they had on order. After various other phone conversations, they advised that the reason that they had no delivery date was that there was apparently problems with both the Grey and White leather and this was holding the cars up!!!

I was just wondering if anybody else who has an IM5/IM6 on order has been advised of this fact as well.

I will keep you posted about the situation.

I understand that they do some updates and inspections at the doc so it should already be here.

Sadly I cannot collect my Car because the update hasn't been done even though the dealer has had it 4 days so far .Apparently they need something from MG to update it and its not arrived

Do you get 7 days insurance by the dealer through MG? or is it down to the dealer?

When I bought my MG4, three years ago, I had to sort the insurance myself, no dealer offer of insurance then. Assuming it's still the same for the IM5, good luck trying to find a sensible quote!!

I asked about (and expected) some sort of 'drive away' insurance when I bought the MG3, but they said they don't offer it, so I'd say it depends if the Dealer wants to offer it, and it probably also depends if the Dealer has an arrangement with a particular Insurance Company.

in 2023 when I bought my MG 4 I was given drive away insurance by the dealer but no such offer on the IM from a different dealer

Collected my new IM 5 Standard Range on 3/12/25 after the update was done .I don't know what it was just glad to finally get the car .Now I have to get to grips with it .
