Having driven solid German engineering for the last 20-odd years, I was really surprised today to hear the noise of being hit by (what I assume were multiple) acorns.
The first time it happened, I happened to be passing an artic in the opposite direction, and I thought he had taken my windscreen out with a stone, but there was no sign of damage, and it then happened a few more times as I drove along the beautiful lanes of Kent as they were pummelled by darling Amy.
Why are these impacts so, so loud in the cabin, compared to previous cars?
