I’ve previously had 80% at around 220 consistently. This seems very low. Charged in garage. Not freezing yet

It is based on what kind of driving you have been doing recently. I just did a 23 mile trip for 10% of the battery, mostly motorway but 50% roadworks at 50 MPH, so if you have been doing a lot of motorway driving then I can believe you would see 185 at full charge.

They don't call it the guess-o-meter for nothing. Imagine how it was back in the early days when a full charge in the summer got you 85 miles. You just have to learn to not worry about it.

Thank you. Last drove about 3 hours mostly dual c way and m way at about 3.5-4 m/kw so your comments seem sound. Cheers.

If you haven't done a 100% charge for a while then try doing that too, to rebalance the battery and recalibrate the guess-o-meter. I think mine might improve a bit if I charge it to 100%, because I haven't done it for a couple of months.

Try this, when you have taken on a 80% charge, reset all of your trips to zero.
Boom 💥 now your GOM predicts the 220 miles of range that you have witnessed previously.
Charged our S5 to the normal 80% SOC that suits our general needs and predicted range, 220 ( ish ) miles is what you should expect to see, but you have to reset all of trips to achieve it.

Cheers. A neighbour with mg 4 suggested going to 100% once or twice a month to help balance. Seems good advice. Cheers.

Remember if the MG4 has NMC chemistry like the S5 then charging to 80% for the majority of your general trips is advisable and charging 100% about once a month to help balance the pack.
If the MG4 has the LFP chemistry, then charging to 100% SOC is the recommended protocol.
It differs depending on the battery chemistry.
