Passenger door mirror

My new MGS5 Trophy passenger door mirror doesn’t fold as far as the driver’s. Is this normal?
Doesn't fold in as far, or doesn't fold out as far?

If you mean out, this is correct because each mirror needs to be at a different angle to achieve the correct viewing angle from the drivers seat.

No it’s when they are folded; but unwittingly you might have answered it?

First one is passenger

First one is passenger
Sorry second one is passenger

The difference is caused because the mirrors' stalks do not seem to be the same size, the driver's side is about 20mm longer than the passenger's. Both mirrors fold in as far as they can without hitting the respective window, net result is that the passenger's side cannot rotate as much.
I presume that on LHD models they are the other way around?

Great answer. I hadn’t thought to measure the wing mirrors just the gap👍
