The missing Pet Scene seems to be important to some so I thought I would share this. The MG app here in Thailand has some useful remote controls, among which are Ventilation and AC control. These can make up the equivalent of the Pet Scene. The Vent mode lowers the four windows a little bit. Then turn on the AC and set the temp. It's a shame one can't save app settings to the car as a Scene.

Not sure about putting the windows down for here in SA, the high outside temp would probably over power the capabilities of the HVAC system. Putting the vent control onto fresh air rather than recirculate would be a good option.

At the moment, in our poverty pack MG4 51, I have to set the HVAC, put the driver's door window down ..... MAKE SURE I HAVE THE FOB (yes, I have locked myself out of the car more than once) reach in and use the door lock switch on the drivers door card, then a quick flick of the wind up button and get my head and arm out the window real quick .....

Wow, that’s an impressive procedure you have invented.
I’m at 17° North in Thailand and it’s hot and humid here also. My windows open about two centimeters with the Vent mode in the app. It is cool here now, but last July and August when it was high 30s and low 40s, my AC kept up just fine. My dog loves to stick his nose up to the opening and sample the plethora of odors. It makes a mess of the window with dog slobber however. I read somewhere that the Pet Scene was removed for legal reasons.

We are seeing temps up around the 50*C around shopping centre car parks, the place the dog is likely to need to stay in the car.

A lot of the non food shops allow us to carry the dog with us, but he is a Chihuahua, the German Shepard that I had previously might be a tad more difficult to carry, plus he just wanted to tear anyone he saw to pieces if he wasn't introduced as family that he had to protect

Unbelievable with kids, any kids, the protection level went up to 11, to the point, the kid's parents couldn't get near them and he would keep them herded away from adults .... no matter who's kids they were :ROFLMAO:

Your GSD sounds a lot like my third one. High herding instinct and wanting to get anything that moved; kids on skateboards or bikes, soccer players in the park, butterflies, etc. At about 5 years old he quieted down and became a ‘normal’ GSD. However, anyone that entered the house through the front door was enthusiastically greeted. I think that was because everyone that entered paid significant attention to him, so they registered as friends. The Mail Man, UPS man, FedEx man, and DHL man were all his best friends. It sounds like you miss him like I miss all three of mine.

Yes, very much so, although he was my workshop guard dog back when I had my mechanical business, so he just couldn't be around people. Incredible loyal and trusting that I would always look out for him and he in turn, always looked out for me. To feed him, he would not eat unless patted on the head and told it was for him, no way of poisoning him that way ..... If he wasn't introduced and told he was part of the family he had to protect, the depth of the growl, the snapping and showing of a full set of very strong teeth in a mouth the looked like the whole front end of the dog opened up ..... no one was going to be crazy enough to try and pat him
When I took him home, we could play ball with him, but if anyone was to come into the back yard through the gate or the house back door .... the ball was forgotten and full guard dog was back on display ..... 25 yrs since he passed, still miss him ....

We had a black Labrador who was a tiny bit like that. His growl and bark came from near the tail and sounded quite intimidating. The brass “ beware of the dog” sign is still on the gate and there’s still the odd person asking if the dog’s about. His memory lingers on years after he passed. Honestly, I’d have been more worried about the cat.

Sounds like a couple of very good boys.

Our dog is definitely in the guarding category and very distrustful of strangers, but he is a softie with us.

 We had a killer cat over here in Mannum, he had a big enclosed run, with a cat flap about a mtr off the ground through a window, that had a cat elevator, 900mm sq vertical cage with shelves staged each side well within jumping height, went across the house under the eves, zigzagged to the end of the carport, along the fence at a 45* climb, right up to the back fence and 1 mtrs up a 3 mtr high x 2mtr square enclosure, with various walkways with artificial grass for him to use as his daytime rest area if it was dry as well as his toilet and second water bowl.
We left him home on our first trip in the motorhome after we got he (rescue cat) and he had lost his voice by the time we returned, the neighbour said no matter what she tried, he would stop crying out for us, so he always travelled with us and the dog after that
When he travelled with us the various motorhomes, he would find away to escape, terrorize the local areas cats and dogs, but they would line up to pay their respects each night when he came in to sleep .... I reckon they were just making sure he was locked in so they could sleep peacefully ;)

Just before we headed off on our trip with the Fuso motorhome, he did a strange move of putting a complete front leg over our Chihuahua and gave him a reassuring and comforting gesture, absolutely freaked the dog.
The dog would always stand his ground against the cat when the cat would try the intimidating run and lunge at him .... so they had a sort of understanding, the cat was at least 3 times the size of the dog, every inch was muscle.

Later, the cat came out to see me in the motorhome, gave me a good cuddle, two arms and back strain required to hold the red terror, then he looked up at me gave me strange meow/cry, snuggled in and then wanted to be put back on the ground ..... and that was the last we saw of him .... waited an extra 3 days before we headed off, did all our usual routines to get him to come inside, nothing ......

We returned from the short trip, still no sign of the cat, walked the whole area behind our house and up into the hill for the 2kms back into town ... no sign, no cat appearing.

We headed off for our long trip of 2 1/2 mths, parked in the driveway in front of the house, next day was crap weather, following day the wife had an appointment in the closest larger town, 36kms away, received a phone call from the neighbour, your house and motorhome are on fire. The wind was so strong coming across the river, it burnt to back fence down where the cat cage was mounted inside the 90* corner, poor cat wouldn't had had a chance ........

So, where he went, I hope he is still having a happy life, miss that cat terribly
