Some people have found that accepting the call by tapping the phone icon on the infotainment screen works but otherwise we'll have to wait for a software update to be released.

This sounds similar to a problem I have encountered. I can make or receive a call, but if the other person speaks for any length of time with no interaction from me, I seem to be muted and then the other party can't hear me. Initially, we suspected BlueTooth interaction between my hearing aids and phone both being connected to the car. We've just disabled Android Auto (which I don't use) and are going to watch to see if it makes a difference.

I don't think it's available in the UK. It was released to cure a problem with preheating on cars fitted with a heat pump.
Thanks Ian, I got really excited believing some of the “challenges” might have been addressed.

What’s your views on OTA updates, do you think MG will ever properly implement this and update us all regularly in the same way some other manufacturers are now doing ?

OTA updates might seem a good idea but a quick Google search and not all of them go without a hitch. There have been numerous cases of cars being bricked, or updates being stuck, or not being able to use the car for an hour while it downloads and installs without notice.

I would prefer all the available updates to be done by the dealer when the car goes in for a service without having to say there is a problem before the dealer has a look for a fix and then only installing that particular update.

I hate the idea of relying on the dealer or approaching them “cap in hand” asking if I can “please have the update sir”. And to make the situation worse, I believe you can’t even implement a map update yourself on the S5.

I came from a Tesla M3 (twice the price I agree) so I’ve seen how well good OTA can work.

Please don’t misunderstand, I’m happy with my S5 and it represents excellent value for money. It could just be so much better if they were able to address known niggles with an OTA fix every now and then.

Thanks for your time and insight in replying here 😊.

Not correct. MPU R32 is not related to TBOX B35 which was for heatpump.
I don't know what is available in the UK but R32 has been spotted in multiple countries I believe.
Got mine free of charge (warranty) and its fixed the mic issue
