I've never seen a manufacturer use the same name for such a completely different vehicle before though, well not one that's sold at the same anyway.

MG petrol cars are quite popular in Thailand - they look sporty and are not expensive.
The previous MG5 was launched in 2015 (see below) The new MG5 shown in the first post is a replacement for it.
The MG5 launched in Europe was badged the MG EP in Thailand and is starting to appear as taxis in Bangkok
