Radio Mutes after Announcements
Hi All,
I have searched the forum but have been unable to find any reference to a strange phenomenon with my MG3 Hybrid and am curious if anyone else has experienced it.
When the system gives an announcement like "you are over the speed limit" this is spoken over the sound of the radio (which can still be heard) but then there is a short couple of seconds of the radio being muted immediately after the announcement. I would expect the radio to be muted during the announcement not after it? I normally just listen to the DAB radio so don't know if it happens with other media inputs. Any ideas?
Just for the record I don't often go over the speed limit often, but this was a simple example!!

No, this is how it should always be. It gives you a few seconds to reflect on your sins.

Mine does this while using the cars Sat Nav. I get a spoken direction and then once the Sat Nav stops the radio mutes for the same duration. Weirdly often, but not always, while playing USB music this doesn't happen and they sync perfectly.

I have the overspeed alerts turned off, as half the time the car detects the wrong speed limit anyway thanks to graffitied road signs, or signs in sides roads being detected. Although I do have the one you can select on the small screen in front of you set at 80mph just in case I get a rush of blood on the motorway!

Is this with CarPlay? If not how do you get voice alerts, I just get chimes?

You need to set voice alerts on in the SatNav settings.
