Here's his latest video:

This the 4WD performance version.

If you want a summary without watching it:
  • He finds it class-leading in ride comfort and quietness
  • It is heavier than he expected
  • Efficiency is better than the IM6 but poor compared to Telsas
  • Turning circle and parking is a doddle
  • Some doubts about the ACC software (slowing in bends)
  • Mind blowing charging speeds even at high SOC
  • Rear visibility poor (but he doesn't seem to know about the rear camera function yet)
This is still a quick test, he doesn't have access to a proper press car yet. Also, LR 2WD version should be more efficient (but don't expect anything class-leading).

I guess the low price is down to the steel platform. They could have gone aluminium, saved 200kgs plus, but then the price would be that much higher.

It weighs roughly the same as a Tesla Model S.

Still, it seems as though work on efficiency was lacking.

Quick conversion of his figures

120kph 2.3 miles kwh
90 kph. 3.05

Done in mild temps

Maybe his 1000km tests will show better results, once he has a press car.
Hopefully he gets a long range of each and we can see the difference.
Albeit he has said previous that awd is normally the preferred option in Norway, just have to wait and see if he can get his hands on one

The awd IM6 was a lot worse.

120kph (74.5 mph). 2.01 mi kWh
90 kph.(56 mph) 2.64

Thirsty beast as he called it.

MG IM6 information & reviews
Yikes. From this day on, if anyone asks, I'll only say it's (IM5) a Tesla model S rival and leave it at that. Model S is unavailable in the UK, so nobody can do a full comparison, so I'm sticking to this script.
