Regen and Active Cruise Control

Yes read the road ahead, back off, and coast to the traffic light/slower car etc. I learnt this with the Leaf, and now do the same in the MG This is another reason, why a human can out regen the ACC even if it did use regen.
Regen braking is not different from Engine braking. Neither trigger brake lights though with regen braking system, there's a factor depending upon how intense the regen braking is. In some cars, at certain speeds, regen does trigger brake lights.

Years of motorcycling followed by 3 years with Leaf + 11 months with Outlander meant I am used to planning ahead. Braking when I need to otherwise coast as much as possible.

I wanted ACC and road safety features and while looking for another Outlander I came across HS Phev. I am sure I will use it on long stretches. Most of my usage is local - 20 to 30 miles average and HS handles it in a breeze
