So long story short I'm converting my van to electric and have bought an MG4 battery pack to use whole.
Im looking for and wiring and/or communication information that anyone might have on these battery packs.
If anyone is able to help I'd be really appreciative.
Thanks.

Youtuber " incarnation austrailia " has converted a Porsche into electric using a MG ZS battery , motor , and electrics and goes into a bit of detail about the communication problems , originally he was going the Tesla motor route. Having the MG4 wiring loom and modules etc,etc might be advantageous? Good luck and keep us posted, please.

I'm not sure how much help we can be

Just a thought... would someone on here with an MG4 SE, CarScanner and an OBD dongle be able to generate some debug logs to get @JacobsMess some CAN data?

It would also be interesting to know if anyone has used that battery pack for a home storage system - I'd much prefer using an LFP pack for repurposing than, say, a Leaf or Teslsa pack.

Thanks, as I understand the ODB is behind a gateway and so its not possible to get can logs this way and instead you need to tap into the can network High and Low wires at a convenient location. There's at least 3 networks that the battery communicates on. Local, Powertrain FD and another that I cannot remember the name of. Ive found at least one other person working on the 51kwh MG packs so hopefully will be able to get some data soon but running vehicle logs are always best.

Regarding the YouTuber incarnation austrailia, he's running an older generation 44kwh pack I believe. Which may or may not use the same communications. I'll have to dig deeper. Apparently the Hybrid and EV comms have some common ground.
