Reversing camera display - whats the function of the vehicle silhouette?

First post on this forum. Does anyone know the purpose of the car silhouette on the left side of the reversing camera screen on the MG5 LR?

If you watch that silhouette as you reverse you will see, as you begin to get really quite close to whatever is behind you, it begins to show the distance (?in centimetres?) between the car and the first thing you are going to hit if you keep going!!

(And yes, I discovered this, thankfully not because I hit anything but was suddenly aware of the appearance, immediately below the silhouette, of the distance being displayed.)

It shows what the rear parking sensors are picking up. You can remove it from the screen IIRC by swiping it to the left if you want.
