S6 tail gate issue.

I've just had this problem on a 6 week old car. It was fine until yesterday when I returned from 10 days away. The car was plugged in and was charged to about 70% for the duration.
The boot opening was fine prior to this period of inactivity. When I opened it yesterday the boot would only open to 3/4. When closing it would close and then spring back slightly and not latch.
I tried resetting it multiple times (gently push the tailgate to full opening height and then press and hold the tailgate close button until it beeps). This did not fix the problem.

I then tried disconnecting the PLCM. The black connector is a little tricky (there's a latch on the front end of the plug, but it still takes a bit of force to get it out). On re-connection, the boot wouldnt work, just beeped. So I manually opened it to full height, pressed and held the tailgate button until it beeped and hey-presto, it worked.

Lets see if this is a permanent fix!

😆 mine today opened 3/4 of the way, opened fully by hand, reset on the tailgate button and fingers crossed... I did play with the key fob the day before, trying to see how it works and it needed 2-3 clicks for the boot to open ... ah, not bothered too much until I hit my head on it 😅

😅 To add to it, as of last night, same as @Zakalwe , the boot won't lock when it closes, comes all the way down, then pops up slightly back half-locked, then needs one final push by hand to lock down. Before that, for a couple of days, it was locking the tailgate a bit stronger compared to before when it gently pushed down and locked it. Wonder if it all started when my wife tried to close the tailgate by hand ... it's always better blaming her than the car ... 😂.

Not keen on disconnecting 12v battery, would like to save average energy usage on the dashboard, anyone to confirm if all the info on "to date" screen is deleted? ...

EDIT: just tried with the key fob whilst the car was locked, opened on the second click of the key fob (3/4 height) and closed on one key fob click, fully, not the soft-close as it used to be but fully locked.

Have you tried the manual reset where you gently close it by hand? It worked for me the last time the tailgate decided I didn't need teeth. Just close it, hold it closed till it locks in place.
I have noticed that if I use the foot sensor it doesn't open all the way, but did with the key...very odd behaviour.

Not yet, so far I only used reset for height opening, press the button for 3 seconds ... I'll do that next if it continues ...
